Parent Handbook
The Parent Handbook provides families with important information about the PGCC Part-Time Hifdh Programme, including the programme structure, student expectations, home preparation, assessment, fees and parent responsibilities.
We encourage all parents and guardians to read the handbook in full and keep a copy for reference throughout the year.
3 Days Per Week
The Part Time Hifdh Programme runs every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, with two hour weekday sessions and a longer two and a half hour session on Saturday.
Structured Hifdh Programme
Students follow a structured system of Dars, Muraaja'ah al Dars and long term Muraaja'ah, helping them develop new memorisation while consistently revising what they have already learnt.
15-Line Mushaf
All students use the same 15 line Mushaf consistently throughout the programme, helping them become familiar with the page layout as their memorisation develops.
7 Year Pathway
The programme follows a structured seven year pathway designed to gradually build each student's memorisation towards the completion of all 30 juz.
Important Information for Parents
A strong home routine plays an important role in a student’s progress. Parents are encouraged to set aside consistent time each day for preparing the next class’s Dars, completing revision and maintaining the night and morning review routine. Parents should also check their child’s Hifdh record book regularly and contact the teacher early if their child is struggling.
The Part Time Hifdh Programme is designed to run alongside mainstream schooling.
Students attend three classes each week, however consistent preparation and revision at home between classes is essential for maintaining steady progress.
Student progress is monitored throughout the programme to ensure memorisation remains accurate and well retained.
Each Dars is assessed for accuracy and tajweed, with lessons either passed or repeated where necessary. Students also complete semester examinations and a Mukammal examination after completing each juz.
Progress is reported to families each term through QoBox.
Students should arrive prepared and properly equipped for each class.
Students should bring:
- Their own 15 line Mushaf
- Hifdh record book
- Pens and pencils
- Water bottle
- Access to the Al Muqri app for home preparation
